Critics of Glu Mobile’s latest series three World Series of Poker Hold’Em Legend game say that the easy-to-follow user interface and smooth, fast game play are worth applauding.
The Texas Hold Em game style at the centre of the offering provides full scope for a competitive Artificial Intelligence that keeps the player on his or her toes with some challenging moves, improving skills and providing entertainment at the same time.
Glu Mobile’s AI presents five opponents in each match, each with a different level of skill and aggression, making for a more rounded game for pokerheads. The presence of the ‘tells’ that are so much a part of the game is also attempted, but not through the actual player avatars. Instead, a question mark or exclamation mark appears over the avatar to signify weak or strong hands at random, giving the experience an additional tweak.
The game also includes a strength meter which appears each time new cards are dealt in the form of a five bar indicator that lights up to show how the strengths of the customer’s two cards (and the cards on the table, if they have been dealt).
World Series of Poker 3: Hold’Em Legend comes on the Symbian platform.
