The British 3D online poker provider PKR, is taking its gameplay to the roulette table and making it available on smartphones, the company announced Tuesday.
The company has released a new free-play app on the iOS platform, and says that it plans on releasing the real money version before Christmas 2012.
The next-generation graphics on the new app are powered by Unity Engine software and, as a result, the animations within the game run smoothly and realistically. As a game, players approach it in the same way as they do with the poker platform; creating an avatar, customising their appearance and building up their ‘play money’ bankroll.
Poker aficionados unfamiliar with ‘The Devil’s Game’ (a title given to roulette due to the fact its board numbers add up to 666), the app comes with a full tutorial – using mini-lessons to explaining how to play roulette.
“It’s a lot of fun just to have a quick spin of the wheel while you ride the train, or wait around for your next hand at the poker table,” said a PKR spokesman, adding that a Blackjack app is also in the pipeline.
