The French gambling giant Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has introduced new online technologies that enable its punters to access real-time odds and prices on live sports events underway on television simply by pointing their cellphones at the screen.
The latest scanning technologies developed by TvTak in France underpin the new service, which enables PMU to quickly offer its latest markets and prices to mobile gamblers on televised sports events currently live on-screen.
PMU has already discovered the potential for mobile gambling, with around 40 percent of its online wagers presently coming through this channel, according to marketing director Cyrille Giraudat.
Giraudat revealed that stakes volume has soared 22 percent in 2013, and growth has been especially high on Ligue 1 and Paris Saint-Germain F.C., where PMU is betting partner.
