Online payments group Skrill has signed a partnership agreement with UK betting group Betfred requiring it to enable and process mobile transactions between the betting company and its players.
The publication Mobile Entertainment reports that a predicted 164 million people will place a bet via their mobile devices over the next five years.
The Skrill service connects those using Betfred’s mobile sportsbook to Skrill’s digital wallet around the world.
Skrill claims that customers can make payments with one tap rather than repeatedly having to tap in their login info or card details, meaning the process of making a payment is much simpler.
