Cellectivity has successfully completed a lengthy Apple approval process, enabling its Bet2Go sports betting application to be obtained through the iTunes online store in the United Kingdom.
A company spokesman described the approval as “a major breakthrough….which took into account the requirements of the legislative environment in the UK and ensured that Bet2Go and its partners had all the applicable licenses.”
Users will be able to download the app from the UK store, and will only be able to place bets where they are physically located within the country, due to the use of the geo-restriction capabilities built into the operating system. With the passing of more regulations in other countries, Cellectivity expects that the geographical coverage will increase over time.
Bet2Go Sports allows punters to compare prices and place a bet across a range of the world’s top online bookmakers – Ladbrokes, Blue Square, Paddy Power, Skybet, BoyleSports, and William Hill among them. In addition to being able to compare odds and place simple bets, Bet2Go also offer price comparison on accumulator bets.
Marcel Puyk, CEO of Cellectivity, said, “I am delighted to finally be able to offer our users the full range of supported mobile devices, including a native app on the Apple platform. We have been working on mobile betting since the very beginning, starting with SMS in 2002 and have migrated ever since to the latest available mobile platforms, culminating in what is arguably the best yet for mobile betting in Apple’s operating system and device range. Now our iPhone, iPod and iPad users will be able to enjoy our service in the most convenient way.”
