Betfair’s interest in the mobile gambling vertical was on show again this week when the online gambling giant launched a new revenue share deal for third-party mobile developers using a variety of platforms.
A statement from the company notes that it wants to help developers to build and distribute mobile applications to other Betfair customers, and that it wants to encourage the growth of mobile applications.
The Betfair offer is a monthly revenue share of 5 percent of net exchange commission from bets placed by any customer on the Betfair sports exchange through the software vendor’s mobile application. Payments are capped at GBP5 per customer, per month, per unique application, and the agreement will be available until 30th April 2012.
The revenue share starts as soon as a mobile application has been certified by Betfair, has a valid Vendor Software ID and is listed in the betting company’s App Directory.
The ‘mobile’ category includes iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7.
