A mobile gambling deal signed back in December 2010 between the Italian listed company Buongiorno and internet gambling software developer Playtech plc moved forward this week with the launch of mobile casino games in fun mode in the Italian market.
Playtech claims it is among the first to offer mobile casino games to the regulated Italian market, with Blackjack, Roulette and Jacks or Better available for the iPhone and Android platforms. The games are presently available in fun mode, with real money mode to follow once regulation permits and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Milan-headquartered Buongiorno is a major mobile enabler, providing a wide range of services to more than 130 telecom operators in 57 countries, and has 10 years experience and a team of 1000 professionals.
Playtech’s mobile casino games will be launched under Buongiorno’s popular Winga brand, in full compliance with the Italian regulations set out by AAMS.
Playtech’s head of mobile, Daniel Orkan, commented: “This is a significant step for Playtech in the Italian market and in our ongoing partnership with Buongiorno, which will see the delivery of more innovative products as the year progresses.”
Buongiorno’s chief of online gaming, Assen Diakovski, said that Winga.it is set to develop across two sectors in the coming few months, once regulations allow. Firstly, via the expansion of its existing gaming offering, to include lotteries and casino games, and secondly on the mobile channel.
