Amid the for-and-against media blizzard of comment and interviews this week on the Australian government’s review of the Interactive Gambling Act it was easy to overlook a positive development in mobile gambling initiated by Aussie interactive TV application developer Two Way.
The company revealed that it has started to launch a new betting app across Samsung’s range of internet-enabled TVs, smartphones, tablets, Blu-ray players and home theatre systems, working in exclusive conjunction with major Australian operators Sportingbet and Betfair.
Company spokesmen revealed that the Sportingbet application is already live on most Samsung devices, while the Betfair application is pending final regulatory approval, which is expected shortly.
The app enables punters to make bets via their TV remote controls on all sports events broadcast by free-to-air TV, pay TV, or any form of IPTV.
Samsung and Two Way have struck a revenue sharing arrangement for all revenue generated via Two Way’s wagering applications.
