Microgaming’s Thunderstruck II video slot has been launched to its Android and iOS compatible Mobile Air client.
Originally launched in May 2010 on the casino platform, Thunderstruck II was the first online video slot to implement gamification through an innovative player achievements memory structure, where returning players’ past wins are recorded, allowing for a cumulative pursuit of rewards.
The game, well-known for its graphics and memorable characters, ensures that the same quality and performance is delivered through the Mobile Air client.
Thunderstruck II optimises the device’s hardware and directly uses the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to radically improve the speed and graphics of the game. This enables the game to deliver a sophisticated, engaging gaming experience through high frame rate animations and seamless playability.
Neill Whyte, head of product channels at Microgaming, explains: “The use of hardware acceleration is transforming the way we develop our games for the mobile arena. It allows us to put our world-leading game titles onto the mobile platform, incorporating all of the graphics, effects and features that made the slot such a hit on the PC platform. Thunderstruck II is arguably one of our most popular and successful games, so it’s a great addition to our Mobile Air client.”
