This week TwinSpires.com, owned by Churchill Downs Inc., launched a new mobile phone app on the iOS platform, just in time for its punters to use for the Kentucky Derby on May 2.

The company has advised the Associated Press news agency that the app is available from the Apple Store and allows mobile device gamblers to place wagers, watch live races, read handicapping information and stream replays

In addition to the Kentucky Derby, betting is also available from the app for the Preakness Stakes, the Belmont Stakes, the Breeders’ Cup and other races.
