The furore over last week’s suspension of the William Hill, Coral, Paddy Power, Betfred and Ladbrokes apps (see previous report) has been resolved with the reinstatement of the mainly sports betting products by the UK Apple App Store.
The suspension was apparently caused by an administrative error flowing from an App Store request that owners of gambling related apps furnish details of their UK Gambling Commission licenses.
Apple gave app owners a three week window to provide the licensing information, and this was met by the companies concerned, but an error on Apple’s part triggered the unjustified and unilateral suspensions.
