PokerStars Mobile

I was really excited when PokerStars announced that they were coming out with a mobile version of their poker room, partly because they are one of my favourite online poker rooms but also because I knew how much development had gone into making it.Instead of just churning out a standard java based game PokerStars have developed a proper iphone and android app which means you get a much better playing experience.

Installation

This could not be easier, just follow these simple steps:

2. Set up an account, don’t worry no need to provide your credit card number for this.
3. Now you are ready to install the app on your iphone/ipad or android device through the relevant appstore.
4. Log in with your account details and play for fun and when you are ready deposit some money and starting playing for real.

Games and Features

PokerStars is the first mobile poker room which feels like a proper poker room. What I mean by this is that you can choose whether to play no-limit, pot-limit and fixed limit. All the games have a wide range of betting levels. In terms of poker variants they offer Texas Hold’em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo so all the most popular ones. In case this isn’t enough you also have the choice between regular ring games, Sit&Go’s and tournaments.

The interface is really fantastic and is laid out in a very clear and logical manner. When I was testing the various games I was on a train going through tunnels but due to the buffering technology they use there were hardly any disruptions. As with most mobile casinos and poker rooms you have the option of playing for play money to get a feel for the place before depositing money but the really clever thing with Pokerstars is that you only get a certain amount of cash each day which means you don’t get the usual bunch of idiots going all-in every hand when you are trying to check out the interface!

There is also the opportunity of playing against poker pro’s like Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Vanessa Rousso, Victoria Coren and many more which adds to the overal enjoyment and excitement of playing poker.
